Evansville, IN Dollar General Store Closes Causing Confusion

There are seventeen Dollar General stores in Evansville. That equals around 6,000 people per Dollar General store. I’m not a business expert whatsoever, but that seems like a lot of DG stores for one city. Soon that number of stores will be eighteen. There are plans for another Dollar General Store next to Wolf’s Bar-B-Q.

While I’m doing the math, I should probably subtract all of the times that I go to a Dollar General and they are closed during normal operating hours. This has happened to me several times this year.

First of all, I must give props to the person that wrote the word inconvenience and spelled it correctly. That takes skill. But how does one break a cash register and not have a manager to fix it? I’m pretty sure if the suits at corporate DG saw this, heads would roll. Or maybe they would just let it slide since there is a staff shortage in the Evansville area.

A few months ago, the same thing happened to me at the 1015 E Mount Pleasant Rd location. It was the middle of the day, and the sign simply said they would reopen soon.
